“ Ask to sit in Vanessa's section, she was terrific! Chili's missed out. They couldn't seat a party of 5 because of A/C issues, yet a whole section was closed. It worked out. Took hubby to The Black Bear Diner for Father's Day and couldn't have had a better time. The food was exceptional. There wasn't anything we didn't like. The pot roast melt was a 10, as well as the chicken pot pie. Their desserts were a great shareable size and, oh so good! ”
“ Okay, what can I say about this restaurant and the excellent service I received? A couple of paragraphs of praise and a job well done. First, let me point out my first impression. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. The hostess seated me very quickly in a comfortable booth. My waitress, Erica, was polite and professional and took my order. I asked her for recommendations and finally decided on the Blackberry Stuffed French Toast with scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. Now, because I was really hungry, I also asked for an English muffin while I waited. It took a mild 15 minutes to receive my meal, and when I got it, it was fresh and hot. I love hot food. So many restaurants serve its customers lukewarm warm food as if it's a new trend to the publics liking. I appreciate for the money I've paid, that I am respectfully given a meal that is hot. So thank you. The French Toast was mildly sweet and packed with flavor. The blackberry compote inside was oh so delicious that it didn't really require syrup, and the chicken sausage was a savory delight in every bite. I was feeling so full that I didn't want to stop eating it. My waitress Erica checked on me without fail, and anything I needed extra was provided with a bonus smile. The atmosphere in the restaurant was busy but not overwhelmingly loud or unbearable. The staff were all in constant motion, keeping their customers happy and content. So, if you are ever in the area, stop by and give them a try because the breakfast is awesome, and they give good-sized portions that will satisfy the largest bear sized appetite. Black Bear Diner, you deserve an A for leading by example and making good on your mission statement... " We've always delivered on the promise of big portions of quality food in a great environment." Job well done and mission accomplished. I enjoyed a great meal and left with a full stomach and a smile on my face. ”
“ Summer made our experience! She is so kind and attentive!! She checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed. Never ran out of coffee or water. My son wanted a hot chocolate and she said she dropped a couple ice cubes in it so he wouldn’t scald his tongue. She is the BEST! ”

“ We went in yesterday after our daughters last day, “graduating” elementary school. Our server was Summer and she was GREAT. Very attentive, drinks, food came out great & timely. Then she brought our daughter a little ice cream with sprinkles telling her some great encouraging words. Very memorable and Briles loved it! Thanks & we’ll be back ”
“ Exciting to have a Pacific Northwest-themed diner here in Central Texas! I appreciate the subtle woodsy black bear decor. The food is pretty tasty with heaping portions! Been here for dinner and breakfast now. Pot roast was great! Breakfast is good too, though the eggs ordered over easy came out on the done end of medium-well. Will have to give them another chance at that another time. The menu is massive, so I still have a lot more to try too. ”
“ Super cute place with good food! I loved the atmosphere and decor which struck me as unique, and the service was great. The food was pretty good and was pleasing to the eye! I had the vegetarian omelette, and while I wasn’t expecting it to be robust with flavor it was lacking a little for me but the pepper sauce they have there made up for it. Everything else was great though, and the biscuits are huge! If you go during busy hours you can expect a wait time but I have no issues with that. Overall a good dining experience and I would recommend it! ”
“ I'm giving this restaurant a big thumbs up! The food is incredibly delicious, the cooks are doing a great job , and the service is top-notch. Everything was fresh and expertly prepared. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience! ”
